Our first Albert F. Ford Jr. High Reunion Meeting

was held this past Saturday at Rosie’s.

The Committee (which now consists of everyone) appreciated the support we received.

Reunion Date & Ticket Cost:

It was decided that the reunion will be held September 2, 2006 at the Century House, 6:30 – Midnight, with a buffet costing $15.95.
The cost of the reunion ticket will be $35.00 per person (Guests, Family & Friends are welcome) that will include the dinner, DJ, printing, decorations and stamps.

Monies left over will be saved for the 2007 reunion. We would like to be able to continue this every year.
*Only 100 tickets to be sold, need to be paid by May 1, 2006.

Music:

We are trying to keep the cost of the DJ under $500.00. If anyone knows of a DJ, please come forward soon so we can book the person.

Favors:

What we need from each and every one of you is a list of your 10 favorite songs from our Jr. High years. This will be needed by February 1, 2006. We need to get a song request list to our DJ and have plenty of time to work on the cd’s. A list of your favorite songs of will be picked as the top 14 songs to go on the cd. Carlton has agreed to step up and take over the burning of the cd’s for favors.

Reunion Theme/Decorations:

We found out last night that the theme to our jr. high prom was “Aladdin” (Thanks to Patti and Louise, for remembering) and that is why we are using it for our first class reunion theme. We will need volunteers to help with decorations, let us know if you can offer some time.
Please send any memorabilia you might have from the Jr. High years.
Class pictures, pictures taken during basketball games, class outings, proms etc. Mark your name on the backs and you will receive them back. Scan and e-mail to: acushnetclassreunion@comcast.net or send to Liz Kramer, 3299 Acushnet Avenue #22, New Bedford, MA 02745. Call (508-995-3220) and we will meet at cvs and we will make copies, so you can have them right back.


“Where We Are Today” Booklet:

A questionnaire to fill out and return will be emailed /mailed to you, and this will be placed in a book called “Where We Are Today ”. The questionnaire’s will be placed in this book and put on a table at the reunion with paper, so anyone at the reunion can get their fellow classmates “today’s” info., rather than giving out our addresses and phone numbers, giving us more time to just talk about everything that has happened over the last 36 years.

Name & Picture Tags:

You will also receive a Name and Picture Tag Form so we will know how you want your name tag to read. Send a picture that you would like on the name tag, from 1968-1970, or we will use the last picture we have of you in 9th grade.

*All this information must be received by 2/1/06 since we have lots of organizing to do.

Lost Classmates:

We had 81 classmates to find, 21 are still on a list of “Lost” classmates which we will e-mail to you. Anyone that has any info. regarding our fellow classmates, please contact us. We also don’t want to forget the 8th grade graduating class any names not mentioned please let us know.

Inviting Teachers:

We discussed inviting teachers and everyone was in agreement. It will be great to see our wonderful teachers that guided us into the life we have today. See this list on the website, if you have any more to add please let us know.

Our Accomplishments:

Kenny had a great suggestion, to add our accomplishments to the website. Please send any thing you would like me to add (pictures, articles) by mail or email.

Next Reunion Meeting:

*The reunion meeting for March 25, 2006
has been cancelled.

Our next Reunion Meeting will be at Rosie’s on Saturday, 7pm- ??, March 25, 2006. It will be to discuss the type of program, skit you would like and volunteers for decorations for Sept. 2, 2006. We will send further info regarding this meeting.

Christmas Party:

Everyone was so excited about the whole idea of the reunion, people are talking about getting together for the holidays. Just a fun night, we will let you know a date, time and place, we will all be at.
